The Madison school board calendar, a monthly list of meeting times and topics, and meeting notices and agendas are posted on the MMSD website . Unless specified, all meetings are open to the public. All meetings are at the Doyle Building, 545 W. Dayton St. unless otherwise noted.
The Madison school board generally meets three times per month (holidays and other circumstances can change this meeting schedule):
The Instruction Work Group usually meets on the first Monday of the month. It focuses on student learning, including curriculum, assessment, instruction, intervention and educator effectiveness.
The Operations Work Group usually meets on the second meeting of the month. It focuses on district financial management (including budget and facilities maintenance) and administrative issues (including staff hiring and retention).
The regular Board of Education meeting is usually held on the last Monday of the month. These meetings usually include a report from the Superintendent and votes on some of the policy and budget decisions discussed at the work group meetings.
Additionally, in 2017-18 an ad-hoc board committee on Education Resource Officers in our schools is meeting the third Wednesday of each month.
