The Madison Metropolitan School District Board of Education makes decisions about district policies and budget. This democratically-elected governing body hires and supervises the superintendent of schools and advocates on behalf of Madison’s public schools. School board members listen to the concerns and needs of the constituents they represent and solicit their input on decisions about our public schools.
SCAPE facilitates communication between the community and the Madison school board:
- We attend most school board meetings.
- Through action alerts, we encourage members of the community to share their concerns and needs with the board through email or public comments.
- SCAPE advocates on issues of concern identified by our members.
All school board meetings are video recorded and live streamed on the MMSD website. Past meetings are archived on YouTube.
